Hansika Motwani was born on August 9, 1991 in Mumbai, India. Her parents Pradeep Motwani, a businessman and Mona Motwani, a dermatologist, were separated in 2004. She has a brother called Prashant Motwani. Hansika Motwani is doing her +1 from Podar international School. She is a linguist and speaks several languages including Hindi and Telugu. She also speaks some broken Tulu.

It was Juhi Chawla who first noticed Hansika Motwani’s acting abilities and recommended her to the director of the now shelved film "Yahoo" starring Govinda and Juhi Chawla. Finally Hansika got a big break when she was signed up for the Hyundai Santro ad campaign, in which she teamed up with the legendary Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. After Hyundai she did several ad films endorsing brands like Pepsi, Bournvita and Samsung Electronics.
